Hi, I’m Ramona
Chartered Clinical Psychologist, CBT Therapist & ACT Coach
I help people make sense of the situations and experiences that can feel overwhelming, and guide them in applying more effective, conscious strategies to achieve a meaningful and fulfilling life.
I know that life comes with pressure, challenges and can be overwhelming.
After many years working as a clinical psychologist in both private practice and the NHS, I’ve seen the shifts that can happen when you take the time to understand yourself and the way past influences have shaped your present. The more you embrace the asymmetry of life, the more empowered, energised, resilient and consciously aware you become.
My Role
I am here to help you resolve stuck points, and give you the knowledge and tools to complete your journey to health and well-being. To do this, I use an integrative approach, using a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your needs, goals, and the way you prefer to work. As a natural problem-solver, I encourage you to think outside the box, and offer creative, person-centred strategies for moving forward and dealing with challenges and choice points.
Through repair,
We create something more unique, beautiful and resilient.
My Approach
The art of reconstruction
I find inspiration in the Japanese art of Kintsugi, often translated as ‘golden repair’. Rather than hiding breakage, it honours it as part of an object’s history.
In much the same way, the difficult experiences in our lives need not be disguised or erased. When we understand them differently, they can become part of a richer and more meaningful story. Embracing imperfections can open the door to growth, strength and new possibilities.
A space for expansion
Therapy is not only for times of struggle. It can also be a space to explore new ways of understanding yourself and your life.
Together we can make sense of challenges, clarify what matters most to you, and support the kind of decisions that lead to meaningful and lasting change. My aim is to create a space that feels thoughtful, steady and supportive - where clarity, perspective, and new possibilities can emerge.
What therapeutic approach do you use?
My approach is influenced by positive psychology, calling on a range of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT and other evidence-based approaches, such as compassion focused therapy, to help you address your challenges. Here is a little about what you need to know.
-
Acceptance and commitment therapy is a unique and creative model for both therapy and coaching, based on the innovative use of mindfulness and values. The aim is to maximise your potential for a rich, full, and meaningful life through value-based living.
-
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process experiences that may be affecting how you think, feel, or respond under pressure. By helping the mind reprocess difficult or high-stress experiences, EMDR can reduce their emotional intensity, and support greater clarity, steadiness, and resilience.
-
Cognitive behavioural therapy tools can help you deal with overwhelming challenges in a practical and positive way by breaking down your experience into your thoughts, feelings, physical symptoms, and actions. The understanding is that unhelpful thoughts and feelings can create a vicious cycle that we can often feel confined by.
-
Positive psychology focuses on strengths, resilience, inspiration, compassion, and wellbeing. It is an approach that emphasises the positive influences in an individual’s life. It provides an additional angle to the struggles that you may be experiencing, by looking at what you can do well, what is going well for you and what you are experiencing happiness and joy from.
